On the morning of February 29th, the Government of Pudong New Area signed cooperation agreements with several universities, including Shanghai Normal University, and launched “the Three-Year Pilot Action Plan for the Joint Cultivation of Top Mathematics and Science Talents in Pudong New Area with First-class Universities”, marking a new chapter of cooperation between the district and universities.
Zhu Zhisong, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Pudong New Area Committee, Wu Jincheng, Deputy Secretary General of the Municipal Government and Deputy Secretary of the Pudong New Area Committee, Shen Wei, Secretary of the Municipal Education and Health Work Party Committee, Zhou Yaming, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Education and Health Work Party Committee and Director of the Municipal Education Commission, and others attended the signing ceremony. Zhang Zhengrong, Vice President of SHNU, and heads of relevant functional departments attended the signing ceremony.
Over the past 30 years of development and opening up, Pudong Area of Shanghai has taken the joint construction of districts and schools as an important path to stimulate school vitality and promote regional education development. In the early stage, Pudong collaborated with various universities in Shanghai to jointly build 29 schools (including 5 affiliated schools jointly built with SHNU), achieving full coverage, stage connection, and characteristic guidance of cooperative education. Relying on the advantages and resources of universities, a number of high-quality brand schools have emerged in cooperative education.
At the meeting, a signing ceremony was hold for the cooperation between the Pudong New Area and various universities, including SHNU, in the field of education. According to the cooperation agreement, our school will sponsor the opening of two affiliated schools: a primary school and a kindergarten both featuring in science innovation in the main urban area of Dishui Lake in the Lingang New Area of Pudong this September. In the future, our school will fully support the Pudong New Area in its “expanding and improving quality“ as its basic task, optimize the layout of cooperative education, expand the breadth of cooperative education, explore the depth of cooperative education, and enhance the height of cooperative education.
