Recently, the final results of the second National College Student Ecological Environment Management Research and Innovation Competition were announced. The work of three SHNU undergraduate students majoring in geographical science, the team of Zhang Jiaying (team leader), Wang Yongkang and Hong Yijing, entitled Water purification service benefit measurement from the perspective of spatial flow: taking the the Taihu Lake as an example won the first prize , and the work of Yang Yunrui (team leader), Chen Ruyan, and Fang Doudou, the undergraduate students majoring in resource and environmental science, entitled Supply and demand analysis and trade simulation of ecosystem services in the Yangtze River Delta: based on the perspective of food water quality ecological security synergy were awarded the third prize.
The second National College Students Ecological Environment Management Research and Innovation Competition is sponsored by the Ecological Management Committee of the Chinese Society of Ecology, the Youth Work Committee, the Education Work Committee, and the Journal of Ecology, etc. It is the only national competition for college students in the field of ecological environment management in China. It focuses on such fields as composite ecosystem simulation, ecosystem services and functions, ecosystem restoration, and comprehensive regulation and management of ecological environment systems. It has attracted teachers and students from 102 universities in 23 provincial-level administrative regions across the country.Altogether, a total of 8 teams won the top-ranking prize, 38 teams won the first prize, 48 teams won the second prize, and 77 teams won the third prize.
