February 26thmarks the first day of formal classes for the new semester in our university. In the morning, the SHNU leaders inspected both Xuhui and Fengxian campuses. The SHNU Party Secretary Lin Zaiyong and SHNU Vice President Chen Heng inspected the No.3 Teaching Building on Xuhui campus and also visited the eastern cafeteria and office buildings. The SHNU President Yuan Wen, SHNU Vice SHNU Party Secretary Zhu Huijun, and SHNU Vice President Li Ye inspected the teaching buildings on Fengxian Campus, and accessed firsthand information on how these SHNU schools functioned in the new semester, including the School of Philosophy and Law, School of Psychology, School of Mathematics and Science, School of Chemistry and Materials Science, and School of Physical Education. Also, the relevant leaders from the SHNU President’s office, Fengxian Campus Management Committee, Academic Affairs Office, Student Affairs Department, Security Office, Logistics, Asset and Laboratory Management Office, and Information Office participated together in a teaching supervision visit.
The SHNU leaders had friendly exchanges with teachers and students, and paid a visit to the front-line teachers in teaching. Lin Zaiyong and Chen Heng focused on inspecting Xuhui campus and were pleased with the spirit and demeanor of teachers and students in the new semester. They urged students to focus on learning and actively engage in classroom activities. Yuan Wen, Zhu Huijun, and Li Ye, walked into the classrooms of the Philosophy and Law School and the School of Psychology on Fengxian Campus to audit courses. They, at last, visited the newly built College Student Development Center to inspect the building planning and usage, and walked into the classrooms of the Physical Education College in Building C to experience the actual teaching experience of teachers and students.
Before the start of the semester, in order to ensure the smooth implementation of teaching work and the sound operation of teaching orders, the Academic Affairs Office issued a notice on the preparation work for the start of the semester, requiring all colleges to carefully prepare for the start of the semester, including student make-up exams, deferred exams, course selection arrangements, etc. Each college also held a meeting of all staff before the start of the semester, proposing new requirements for the teaching work in the new semester. With the guarantee of a series of preparation work, and coordination and cooperation efforts among various departments of SHNU, the teaching order of the whole school was orderly on the first day of the semester. The whole school is now welcoming the new semester with full spirit.
