Recently, Qiao Yu, SHNU teacher from College of Fine Arts, won the first prize in the Group of soft brush calligraphy for teachers at National Final of Chinese Classic Recitation and Writing Competition.

Sponsored by National Ministry of Education and State Language Commission, the contest falls into four parts: recitation (900 works awarded), poem interpretation (600 works awarded), and Chinese characters handwriting (3,338 works awarded) and seal cuttings (300 works awarded).
College of Fine Arts in SHNU has always put emphasis on encouraging young teachers to participate in different competitions home and abroad, with the purpose of promoting young teachers’ academic proficiency, creative enthusiasm and professional influence in their fields. Professors in the college have won many awards in different contests.
