The Awarding Ceremony of National Poverty Elimination was held at Beijing People’s Hall on February 25th, 2021. Two SHNU alumni Fu Xin, former Head of Shanghai Experimental School at Shigatse, Tibet and Li Jin, Party Secretary and Head of Shanghai Gongkang Middle School, won the title of National Outstanding Individual of Poverty Elimination.
Fu Xin, an SHNU doctor’s degree winner of education, has received a series of honors, including Shanghai May 1st Labor Medal, and 2019 Annual Figure of Moving Shanghai. He was assigned to work at Shigatse of Tibet in August, 2016 and battled against the challenging conditions there and brought to local residents various sources of knowledge and art education means.
Another SHNU alumni Li Jin also worked in both Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and Tibet to improve local compulsory education backgrounds, and even assisted some needy students with his own salary. He now works at Shanghai Gongkang Middle School, featuring one of the largest Tibetan classes in China.
