Sponsored by Urban Culture and Literature of SHNU, the 1st International Symposium on Urban Culture and Literature was held at Quangqi International Scholars’ Center on January 16th. It attracted over 200 experts to have an academic discussion both online and on the scene. The theme is Pioneering of Urban Research: Theories and Methods.
Scholars from CUNY (New York), Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Nanjing University, Naikai University, Fudan University, Jinan University of Guangdong and SHNU delivered their speeches on the topic from their own perspectives. Professor from CUNY probed the relationship among global cities, local cultures and globalization with the title Globalization without Global Cities? Reflections from New York. She asked a thought-provoking question: Would global cities like New York lose their competition and attraction in the post epidemic era?Also, other experts shared their views on the same topic.
