On November 25th, the 40th anniversary of Research Institute on Ancient Books Collection was held at Wenyuanlou Building and attended by representatives from China Ministry of Education, Shanghai Normal University, Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai People’s Publishing House, Shanghai Library, Shanghai Archives Bureau, and Zhejiang University, etc.
About 200 people from Research Institute of Ancient Books Collection and research on ancient works majors gathered together to review the outstanding achievements in the last 40 years while exploring such topics as books collection, disciplines construction and talents cultivation.
The SHNU Party Secretary Lin Zaiyong paid great homage to the scholars in the relevant fields and stressed the importance of ancient books collection, involving two features of knowledge intensiveness and technological intensiveness, is an essential extension of traditional culture. By dating far back to the ancient literary sources, the research on ancient works integrates the history both present and past, and breaks the academic bacteria.
