The Founding Ceremony of Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) School of Psychology and Academic Seminar were held successfully on November 24th. It was attended by leaders, directors and other representatives from about 30 universities and research institutes, including China Association of Psychology and Shanghai Association of Psychology, etc.
The SHNU President Yuan Wen is quoted as saying that the founding of School of Psychology (SHNU SOP) marks the determined efforts of SHNU to facilitate its process of becoming a high-ranking university featured with teacher education. The SOP is also expected to draw on experience of other universities in terms of developing the psychology disciplines, and target at the most cutting-edged technology in the global academic community so as to contribute to the education modernization and high-level disciplines development of China.
Professor Su Yanjie and Professor Luo Yuejia from China Association of Psychology also congratulated on the successful founding of SHNU SOP and expressed their support for the future development of the newly-founded school.
Also, an academic seminar was held on which a series of theme reports were delivered. During the same afternoon, Edward Melhuish, spoke with the theme Study of Early Education and Development (SEED): Impact Study on Early Education Use and Child Outcomes up to Age Seven Years.
