The SHNU President Yuan Wen met Komhiol Teng Waninga, President of University of Goroka (UG) from Papua New Guinea on October 25th, and signed agreement with Jane Awi from UG Division of International Affairs, and Kravia Kainaro from UG School of Education.
Yuan extended her gracious welcome to their visits and briefed on the conditions of overseas exchanges and disciplines constructions, particularly she introduced the development achieved in teacher education by the support from the secondary institute of the United Nations. She hoped that both sides could take this chance to strengthen their understandings and mutual trust so as to promote more cooperation between SHNU and UG.
Waninga also expected that more teachers and students from UG could be sent to SHNU to initiate their learning journey, and cultivate more high-level teachers for Papua New Guinea and neighbouring island countries.
It is noted that UG signed a cooperative memorandum with SHNU on their trip to China.
