The book launch of I am in Hubei was held at SHNU Music Hall on October 21st. This is a book about the life of 100 Shanghai Normal University teachers and students who were in Hubei Province after the COVID-19 outbreak was published on Wednesday.

Around 576 students from the university were stuck in Hubei, including 95 in Wuhan.

“When I saw all the 576 students return to campus from Hubei, I felt relieved,” said Lin Zaiyong, Party secretary of the university and chief editor of the book.

“All those students had experienced changes in life during the pandemic, including limited food supplies, warm greetings from neighbors and worries about family members who were fighting the virus on the front line.

“Some of them had friends who passed away, some became volunteers in the fight and some stayed at home in quarantine. The book includes 100 stories about their experiences and records the history in Hubei in the special period.”

The book also features anti-COVID19 posters designed by students of the university.

The cover was designed by its Fine Arts College students and others in editing and publishing helped edit the text. Broadcasting students recorded stories from the book and posted them on audio sharing platform Ximalaya.
