The Education Contest Final for Youth Teachers was successfully held on October 14th and involved 48 youth candidates from 18 colleges to participate. The contest falls into 7 groups ranging from humanities, social sciences, political theories, natural sciences to applied disciplines of natural sciences, etc. The 28 judges were from Tongji University, East China Normal University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, East China University of Political Science and Law, and Shanghai University of Engineering Science.
The participants of the contest are evaluated from three parts: education design (accounting for 20 percent of the total score), classroom teaching (75 percent) and education reviews (5 percent). At the final, each candidate would start a 20-minute class by selecting randomly from 20 education clips. The judges would assess from four aspects, namely, education content, organization skills, language and graces, as well as education features.
Started this March, rounds of preliminary selection competitions have been held, covering all the colleges of SHNU and as many as 200 young teachers of SHNU participating in. The final list of this competition would be decided, and the winners would rival at the 6th Shanghai Young Teachers’ Education Contest next year.
