The year 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of Belt and Road Initiative since it is brought forward. Sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, UNESCO Teacher Education Center (short for TEC) and SHNU Division of International Affairs, the 2023 Belt and Road Shanghai Autumn Exchange Project for National Education Administrative Officials officially started on October 9th . Themed at exploring the pre-career and in-service training for teachers, the project targeted at probing the mechanism design and operation mechanism of pre-career tranining and lifelong development of teachers. Altogether, 33 education officials from as many as 17 countries participated in the activity, along with 15 counterparts from 6 different countries joining the online seminar training simultaneously.
The project falls into two sections: the international trend of pre-career teacher education, and teacher cultivation and training patterns. Academic speeches were delivered by speakers from SEAMEO and SHNU International and Comparative Education Research Institute.
The Belt and Road Shanghai Autumn Exchange Project would last until October 20th, including a series of seminars, workshops, school visits and cultural activities. Held annually, the project aims at promoting Chinese education to the world stage while improving China’s international images and soft strengths. Moreover, it fosters the talents of education officials, scholars and education workers and provide a stage for them to share and exchanges education experience so as to promote the education development of various countries and regions.
