Recently, John P.A. Ioannidis, a professor from Stanford University, updated the Top 2% World’s Scientists List which is published at October 2023 data-update for Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators. This list calculated the research results during the period between 1960 and 2023. It is worth mentioning that quite a few SHNU teachers are put on the list.
Based on Scopus Database, research results of scientists, grading from Google Scholar Metrics, H index, number of citations and the order of authors in composing the paper, the list winnowed the top 2% scientists in as many as 22 regions and 174 branch areas, in the aim of offering a long-term indicator of scientists’ academic performances to depict a picture of their global impacts in various domains.
The Listing falls into two rankings: Lifelong Scientific Influence Ranking (1960-2023), which includes 12 SHNU teachers, and 2023 Scientific Influence Ranking, which includes 20 SHNU teachers.
