Recently, sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Cultural Volunteers for University Students’ Exchange in Xinjiang Province staged two shows at China Petroleum University (Beijing, Karamay Area) and Karamay Youth Center in China’s western Province of Xinjiang. It was also attended by representatives from Shanghai Municipal Administration of Publicity, and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and ten other universities.
The SHNU volunteers performed classic bamboo songs, as well as other Chinese traditional musical instruments as erhu, zither and pipa. Particularly, the bamboo notes displayed a gentle and warmhearted atmosphere and express a positive morale towards their decision to uplift Xinjiang education.
