As part of the activities welcoming new students, Fang Jinlong, a top-class artist, arrived at SHNU to bring joy and marvel to our ears with his unique music pieces. The SHNU Party Secretary Lin Zaiyong participated in the activities, along with representatives from various departments and colleges. This marks not only an artistic feast, but also a high-ranking folk arts class.
As a renowned folk musician, educationist and musical instrument collector, and five-string Pipa (a traditional musical instrument like Chinese lute), Mr. Fang has visited over 50 countries to display his perspective of glamorous traditional music. He also watched the performances staged by SHNU students from SHNU Youth Folk Music Orchestra before he directed and talked with students audiences.
Mr. Fang was conferred the certificate of SHNU Guest Professor of College of Music so that he could promote the arts education of SHNU, as well as offering more professional instructions on SHNU folk music.
