This August，news came to SHNU from Kashgar Middle School Attached to SHNU in China’s western Xinjiang Province: all the 50 Kashgar grade-12 students who have entered for Gaokao ( Chinese National College Entrance Examination or NCEE for short）were admitted by universities. This marks a great success for SHNU collaborative basic education programs to uplift education qualities of schools in Xinjiang Province.
Ever since 2021, SHNU has established an aiding plan for Kashgar Middle School and initiated a scholarship program of RMB 180,000 Yuan (approximately USD 25,000) for Yulan Class of that school in three years. This scholarship plan has succeeded in boosting students’ confidence to strive hard regardless of financial challenges.
In the NCEE (Gaokao) this year, 44 students are enrolled as the first batch of undergraduates, 5 students are admitted as the second batch of undergraduates, 16 students were included in Project 211 universities, and 4 even entered the Project 985 universities.
