SHNU Library Ranks 3rd among Libraries of Its Kind

At the recent 14th China National Symposium on Scientometrics and Scientific Education, the Lists of Online Influence Index of Chinese Libraries was launched: altogether 12 lists of Chinese UndergraduatesLibraries ranking three categories, namely, university libraries, public libraries and professional libraries.

Particularly, the Shanghai Normal University Library won the title Five Star Library, ranking 55thin the List of Online Influence Index for UndergraduatesLibraries, and 30thin the List of the Most Influential 100 Academic Libraries in Universities, and 3rd in the List of Network Influence of UndergraduatesLibraries, and 1stin the List of Ranking for University Libraries in Network Influence.

The report of these 12 lists aims at providing references to the development of Chinese libraries by means of promoting construction and management with evaluation. Thus, an online influence network evaluation system has been established from four perspectives: cyber-influence, new media influence, social network influence and online academic influence, etc.

Founded in August, 1954, the SHNU Library boasts a total area of 35,000 square meters and a total number of 3.3 million paper books, 4,5 million e-books, and 132 databases. It is the second batch of China Key Protection Institute of Ancient Books, and the first batch of Key Protection Institute of Ancient Books.
