The 2023 SHNU Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferring Ceremony were held at SHNU playground on the western Xuhui Campus on June 15th. It attracted the graduates ensemble (including both bachelor’s, master’s and doctor’s degree candidates), alumni and parents all across China. Over 200, 000 people watched the ceremony broadcast live.
The ceremony started with the solemn national anthem, ensued by a video clip reviewing the struggling process in pursuit of academic achievements at SHNU. Also, the lists of Ten Best Graduates and Nomination Prize, Shanghai Outstanding Graduates for University Students and SHNU Outstanding Graduates were announced and honored.
SHNU Party Secretary Mr. Lin Zaiyong and SHNU President Madam Yuan Wen both delivered warm speeches, extending their congratulations and best wishes to the graduates.
The SHNU alumna, China Moral Pioneer Teacher, and Director of Students Affairs of No. 1 Middle School Affiliated to East China Normal University, Chen Mingqing, encouraged the graduates to bear in mind each moment they strive for success and cherish them to keep on hard work in their future journey of life.
Xu Dan, the graduates’ representative, (and) Doctor’s degree holder from SHNU College of Environment and Geographic Sciences, (Xu Dan,) recalled the ten years of growing-up experience from being an undergraduate(s) to being a PhD (now) at Shanghai Normal University. She extended her heart-felt gratitude to the Alma Mater and would return to her hometown to pursue her ambition of ecological protection.
The graduates also received such gifts as Graduation Tickets of 16 Campus Landscapes, interactive fond wishes board for SHNU and dialogue WeChat postcards, etc. They were also presented Graduation Polo-shirts integrating the elements of university emblems and landmarks.
