News came that Jin Jing, an SHNU student who successfully applied to study at University of Hawaii at Manoa, won an academic scholarship of USD 20, 000 and becomes the first SHNU music major who was awarded this prize. It is noted that only four international students won this award.
As one of the members of SHNU-University of Hawaii Manoa (UHM) education cooperative program, Jin Jing succeeded in applying for UHM last year and improved her piano professional skills rapidly in the US.
Since 2012, SHNU has signed cooperative education agreements with three American universities: California State University, Michigan State University and University of Hawaii at Manoa. The candidates would start their first three years of university life at SHNU and the following two years at these cooperative universities in America.
