The Research Database Seminar on Young Scholars for Global Cities was held at Shanghai Institute for Global City (SIGC) at SHNU on June 10th. Sponsored by SIGC and Global Urban Development Study, it is one of the key state programs series Mega-cities Groups Leading Double Circulatory Development Research with the Core of Global Cities.
Gao Peng, an assistant researcher of SHNU SIGC, hosted the opening ceremony. The backgrounds and scenarios of global urban space database construction have been probed, and suggestions have been brought from perspectives of resources and disposal, analyses and application, cooperation and sharing of these data. As data have acted as crucial production factors of urban development, and pillars of global urban development, integration and application of global urban data resources, the seminar means a lot to promoting the academic exchanges and cooperation among young scholars and those in related fields.
