This year, 90 percent out of 28 students from SHNU College of Life Sciences funded by Petrel Plan would further their academic journey in such renowned universities and research institutes as Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Manchester, and University of Leeds, etc.
The Shanghai Normal University Petrel Plan, funded by China Ministry of Education, is a practice project of new agricultural research and reform, the only top-ranking bachelor’s degree major in Shanghai and the only professional horticulture program. Boasting 15 state-level and provincial-level talents, 3 experts in Shanghai agricultural system and nearly 5,200 square meters of labs and social practice bases, the horticultural major cosponsors with Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden.
Each SHNU student of Petrel Plan would be guided by a research instructor and developed under the procedures of Supervisor--Postgraduate--Undergraduates patterns, lab research training and social practice base establishment.
