On May 23rd, Chen Ming, Danzhou municipal official from Hainan Province, and Zhu Jiang, Vice Mayor of Danzhou municipal government, led a group of about 19 visitors arrived at SHNU for seeking cooperation in education. This also marks a kernel part of establishing a high-level basic education system for SHNU. It was attended by SHNU Vice President Zhang Zhengrong, and representatives from SHNU Division of Basic Education.
Zhang hoped that more suggestions and proposals on cooperative education programs between SHNU and Danzhou should be brought up from officials from Danzhou city of China’s southern Hainan Province. Meanwhile, officials from Danzhou also confirmed the investment of SHNU education resources has given impetus to upgrading the business environment and public service systems of Danzhou City.
Both sides also agreed that another secondary school (enrolling both junior and senior high students) could be established at Binhai New District of Danzhou, a 9-year long education school (primary school followed by junior high school years), as well as a new kindergarten.
At the conference, a cooperative memorandum was signed to promote the establishment of a basic education development research institute Hainan Branch. Both sides expects that a brand-new mechanism could be founded to facilitate further cooperation in establishing a high-ranking education wisdom bank to provide service in scientific research, teacher training, and policy-making and decision-making procedures.
