Recently, Rao Zhengshan, a faculty member of the SHNU School of Fine Arts, won the ADC Gold Cube Award (BRAND/COMMUNICATION DESIGN) in the 105thAnnual ADC Awards for his design work titled "THE 13TH POSTER DESIGN COMPETITION OF FINE ARTS COLLEGE.".
The Art Directors Club (ADC) was founded in 1920, with a history spanning 105 years. The competition has long focused on diverse practices in the field of visual communication, covering design disciplines such as advertising, branding and communication, books and packaging, motion and spatial experiences, and more. The main honors of the ADC Annual Awards include the ADC Gold Cube, ADC Silver Cube, and ADC Bronze Cube.
Among the award-winning works, the poster's main visual design features a mixed Chinese-English layout of the competition theme as its core element. It skillfully incorporates countless exaggerated thin lines, connecting Chinese and English fonts to create a unique embossed texture. This texture then interweaves with black, silver, and dark gray blocks in the background, forming a rich and playful visual space.
In recent years, Rao Zhengshan,has won numerous professional honors with his design works. His book design project *Cloud-Watching Sketches: Song Wei and His Friends* wonthe 2025 Red Dot Design Award and the bronze medal at the 2025 DFA Asia Most Influential Design Award, while also being selected for the Third Bookbinding Art Exhibition and other major domestic and international competitions.
