On December 19th, Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) and the People's Government of Jiading District held a signing ceremony for deepening educational cooperation in the field of basic education to explore a closer cooperation model between local governments and universities. Lin Zaiyong, Party Secretary of Shanghai Normal University; Yuan Wen, President; and Li Ye, Vice - President; Lu Fangzhou, Party Secretary of Jiading District; Gao Xiang, Deputy Party Secretary and District Mayor; Wang Chao, Deputy District Mayor; Yang Zhenfeng, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission attended the signing ceremony.
Lin stated in his speech that SHNU has always adhered to the concept of serving basic education and boosting the development of Jiading new cities, actively participating in the economic and social development of Jiading District of Shanghai. The two sides will deepen educational cooperation and further optimize the layout of educational resources, which is an important measure to strengthen basic education.
At the meeting, the Education Bureau of Jiading District and SHNU also signed an agreement to jointly establish the Jiading New City Branch of Shanghai Normal University Affiliated Middle School.
At the ceremony, Wang Chao introduced the development of education and cooperative education in Jiading District, while Li Ye introduced the development of Jiading Basic Education Group at SHNU.
The two parties first cooperated to jointly build Jiading Primary School affiliated with SHNU in 2015, and established Jiading Basic Education Group of SHNU in 2020. Currently, it covers six branded schools including kindergartens, primary schools, middle schools, high schools, as well as Jiading New City Branch of Shanghai Experimental School and the Fifth Jiading Experimental School affiliated with SHNU.
