From September 16th to 19th, the SHNU Personnel Department meticulously planned and organized the 2026 New Faculty Orientation Training, attended by over a hundred new faculty members.

This training session lasted four days and included modules such as an opening ceremony, talent development, strategic planning, personnel policies, team building, group discussions, role model sessions, digital literacy, and a closing ceremony. It featured 16 thematic presentations, 10 exchange sessions, 5 group discussions, 2 field trips, and 2 team-building activities.

At the opening ceremony, Lin Zaiyong, SHNU Party Secretary, extended a warm welcome to the new faculty members and delivered a heartfelt "first lecture." The SHNU President Chen Heng encouraged all new faculty to actively transition from "job adaptation" to "job proficiency," consciously abandoning impatience and utilitarian mindsets to focus on teaching. Various university offices, including the administrative department, engaged in face-to-face discussions with the new faculty members to help them quickly familiarize themselves with the teaching and research environment, as well as matters closely related to their professional development and daily work-life.

The new faculty members collectively visited the SHNU History Museum, immersing themselves in the profound educational heritage of the university. Through historical images and precious exhibits, they gained a deep understanding of the enduring spirit of "the eternal path of teaching" at Shanghai Normal University.
