From September 16thto 17th, over nine thousand undergraduate and graduate students arrived at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) to officially embark on a new journey in their lives.

Over the past two days, university leaders visited the registration sites at both the Xuhui and Fengxian campuses to inspect the overall situation of freshman registration, extending their regards to staff and student volunteers, and engaging in warm conversations with the newly enrolled students and their accompanying parents. Students systematically guided the freshmen through various registration procedures, including information verification and campus card processing.

During the summer vacation, various functional departments implemented measures to ensure the smooth opening of a new semester for the new students.

The SHNU Asset and Laboratory Management Office conducted comprehensive maintenance and upgrades on student dormitories, improving furniture and facilities. The Student Residential Area carried out cleaning and sanitation inspections for each dormitory. In terms of travel safety, the Security Department optimized access to school gates, internal road traffic, and temporary parking plans, while increasing patrol frequency and range. The university continued to refine the "Green Channel" for new students, providing support for those from economically disadvantaged families. Eligible new students can receive one-stop services, including policy consultations, travel expense subsidies, student loan applications, and work-study position applications, along with customized care packages containing study and daily necessities. The university also continues to offer free meal vouchers for economically disadvantaged new students and their accompanying parents.

On campus, university orientation volunteers actively assist new students by carrying luggage, guiding them to their destinations, and providing detailed answers to various questions about campus life. They perform various tasks such as picking up at Shanghai South Railway Station, maintaining order on-site, directing at crosswalks, offering consultations, and helping with various other problems.
