Recently, the results of 2019 Higher Education Majors for Undergraduates have been released by China Ministry of Education: Artificial Intelligence (Code: 080717T) for Bachelor’s Degree from SHNU College of Information and Mechanical Engineering has been listed as one of the new majors.
Development of SHNU AI Major
In 2017, SHNU College of Information and Mechanical Engineering won approval from China Ministry of Education for developing AI plus Education as a mode of new interdisciplinary talents.
In 2018, SHNU College of Information and Mechanical Engineering established a trial class of Computer Science and Technology (AI plus Education) and started to enroll freshmen.
In 2019, SHNU AI Research Institute and AI STEM Education Research Center have been founded to promote AI education in middle schools and primary schools. In the same year, SHNU Computer Science and Technology major has been evaluated as first-rank undergraduates’ majors by China Ministry of Education.
