SHNU, Nov. 15: The Shanghai Forum 2007 on the physical constitution of adolescents was held in our university. Leaders from Department of Physical Health and Art Education (DPHA) of Ministry of Education, Shanghai Education Commission and our university attended the opening ceremony. 200 experts from America, Japan, Germany and Finland were also present, their research fields covering education, physical education and hygiene. Yang Guiren, the head of DPHA of Ministry of Education, Shen Xiaoming, the chief of Shanghai Education Commission, and Prof. Hans from Universitaet Freiburg of Germany made speeches at the ceremony. President of our university Li Jin delivered a lecture entitled “Teachers’ Responsibility for Promoting the Physical Constitution of Adolescents”, in which he attached great importance to teachers’ role in promoting the health of adolescents. During the two-day forum, both the Chinese and foreign experts exchanged views on such topics as “The Physical Education and Health Promotion in Schools in Modern Society”, “Comparison of Health Conditions of Chinese Adolescents with Those in Developed Countries”, “The Way of Life and Health Behavior of Students in Modern Times”, “Physical Facilities in Cities and Their Effect on the Development of Adolescents' Health”, etc.
