Singapore Polytechnic Signs Interscholastic Exchanges Agreement with SHNU

         On November 14th, a delegation of 4 from Singapore Polytechnic was received by SHNU Vice President Lu Jianfei at Foreign Guest House of our university. Leaders from the International Exchanges Department and the College of Mechanics and Engineering attended the signing ceremony on behalf of Shanghai Normal University.
         Both sides detailed the cooperation and educational program for juniors of the College of Mechanics and Engineering; meanwhile, possibilities were probed in respect of such academic domains as Chinese language teaching, environment, and tourism, etc. Founded in 1954, Singapore Polytechnic is regarded as the first polytechnic of its kind managed by Singaporean government, and one of the most prestigious throughout Southeast Asia. With the courses ranging from engineering to commercial ones, from full-time education to night schools, the university now boasts of 10 departments, over 30 majors, nearly 10,000 students and an overseas student ratio of around 10%. With an acquisition of College diploma or certificate from Singapore Polytechnic, students could apply for a Singapore Permanent Resident Permit when they have lived there for two years.
