SHNU: The Tourism Institute of our university held an awarding ceremony on November 2 in which Yang Weiwu, the head of the institute, conferred a Letter of Appointment as guest professor upon Research Fellow Xu Jing, the chief of the Asia-Pacific Department of World Tourism Organization (WTO) of the United Nations. Other leaders of the Institute of Tourism, administrators of the Office of Academic Affairs, and some teachers attended the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Mr. Xu delivered a lecture entitled “The Developing Trend of Tourism in the Asia-Pacific Regions and the World”. He made a detailed analysis and vivid description of 9 items of trend in the world’s tourist industry. He also pointed out the achievements as well as challenges in China’s tourist development. At the end of the lecture, Mr. Xu answered students’ questions with great interest. His rich knowledge and humorous style of speaking won big applause from the audience. |
