SHNU: In Shanghai Final of the 2007 “CCTV Cup” English Speaking Contest, Wei Lirong, a junior in the College of Law and Politics of our university, was awarded the second prize among contestants from over 20 universities in Shanghai including Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University and Shanghai International Studies University. “CCTV Cup” English Speaking Contest is co-sponsored by CCTV International and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. The contest includes three parts: keynote speech, impromptu speech and question-and-answer. Held annually since 2000, the contest aims at arousing public interest in English learning. It is regarded as an authoritative competition that represents the best English speakers among university students nationwide. |
