The Academic Seminar on "The Transformation of Women's Status and Gender Equality in the Perspective of Global Diverse Civilizations"Held at SHNU

On November 15th, an academic symposium titled "The Transformation of Women's Status and Gender Equality in the Context of Global Diverse Civilizations" was held at the Xuhui Campus of Shanghai Normal University(SHNU). The event was organized by the Department of World History at the SHNU School of Humanities, the Women's Studies Research Center of SHNU, the Shanghai Women's LeadersSchool, and the Editorial Board of *Women's and Gender History Research*. Over 100 experts, scholars, and media professionals from across the country attended the symposium. Participants engaged in lively discussions on topics such as the historical origins and contemporary impact of the Fourth World Conference on Women, theoretical and methodological approaches to women's and gender history research, the evolution of women's status under diverse civilizations, global efforts to promote gender equality, and the development of women in the era of digital intelligence.  The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Yi Zhaoyin, a professor of SHNU and editor-in-chief of Women's and Gender History Research, Professor Chen Heng, President of SHNU, and Researcher Zhang Yongying, Deputy Director of the Women's Research Institute under the All-China Women's Federation, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.  

The seminar focused on diverse themes such as the theory and knowledge production in women and gender history research, the construction of female imagery and emotional narratives from a cross-culturalperspective, women's spontaneity, women's spiritual dilemmas and physicalpolitics, the Beijing World Conference on Women and gender equality, among others.
