SHNU, Mar 16: On the first Sino-Brazil University Presidents’ Forum held in St. Paul, on behalf of Shanghai delegation, Prof. Lu Jianfei, Vice President of SHNU, delivered a speech entitled Retrospect and Prospect: the Cooperation and Communication of Shanghai Normal University with Other Schools of Higher Education. Lu’s speech received an extensive and positive response in the forum. Over 50 Chinese and 47 Brazilian university presidents with their delegations were present at the forum. Wu Qidi, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, came specially to address the forum. The presidents probed into such issues as how to carry out cooperation and communication in the field of higher education. Ms.Wu and Jorge A. Guimaraes, the executive president of the forum, met Mr. Lu cordially. SHNU delegation also took part in a large-scale exhibition, the Exhibition of Brazil International Higher Education, and introduced the education of the overseas students in SHNU, attempting to attract students from Latin America to come. China Education Press interviewed Prof. Lu on such issues as languages, funds, and forms concerning the educational cooperation between China and Brazil. |
