On October 25th, SHNU Special Olympic Day, one of China’s special Olympic projects, was held on Xuhui Campus. 40 mentally challenged students from Shanghai Donglifengmei Rehabilitation School and Shanghai Changqiao Sunlight House, together with their parents, attended the activity with over 100 volunteers from SHNU College of Physical Education, and officials from East Asia Region of International Special Olympics Committee, Asian Adaptation PE Association, Shanghai Special Olympics Committee, etc. This program marks the 30th anniversary of SHNU College of Physical Education, aiming to shorten the distance between university students and the mentally disabled, and share the happiness and skills during matches so as to help them better understand the society and enhance communications with the outside world. With the help of volunteers, the disabled students participate in basketball shot, circular ball passing, and golf, etc. (Trans. By Rebecca)
