Around 140 Astrophysicists Visits SHNU for Starburst-AGN Connection Meeting

      On October 27th, Starburst-AGN connection Meeting, sponsored by SHNU, Harvard University and California Institute of Technology, was held in Shanghai Normal University. About 140 astrophysicists from around the world gathered for the latest exploration on starburst and AGN, including 30 members of European and American National Academy of Science. It was also attended by Director of China’s National Foundation Commission of Natural Science, Head of China’s Astrology Association, Vice Director of Shanghai Municipal Science Commission, SHNU President and Vice Presidents etc.
      It is hoped that the meeting will offer a stage of cooperation and exchanges in terms of future development of starburst and AGN studies. As an important branch of astrophysics, starburst and AGN accounts for a key project of SHNU lab of astrophysics that has had essential links with the counterparts home and abroad. This meeting also marks its international influence and reputation.
