On July 24th, Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Civil Affairs and Shanghai Social Workers Society cooperated in holding the departure ceremony of Shanghai Social Volunteer Service Team to assist the reconstruction program in Dujiangyan City, one of the most severely-stricken areas in the May 12th Sichuan earthquake. SHNU team was one of the three conferred with an honorary flag. Jiang Weiyi, Vice Party Secretary and Vice President of SHNU, spoke at the ceremony.
This program aims at building an service office where people could be placated from negative emotions, inspired of morale to self-protection, and reasonable suggestions could possibly be rendered to the local government from an professional perspective. (Trans. by Rebecca) |
