SHNU: 2 SHNU Professors, Liu Shilin and Jia Nengqin, have been successfully selected as candidates of 2008 New Century Talent Plan of China’s Ministry of Education. This program aims at cultivating creative minds and potential pioneers in academics. In 2008, there are 6 shortlisted professors from 5 universities in Shanghai, and 2 from SHNU. Those who enter for the final list will be funded RMB500, 000 each for natural science disciplines, and RMB 200,000 each for social sciences. (Editted by Rebecca)
