SHNU:Cosponsored by SHNU Key Discipline Program of Public Management and Peking University, the International Symposium on Grassroots Democracy and Community Operations was held in SHNU from March 27th to 29th. It was also supported by Research Center of Sino-US Policies of San Francisco, USA. The theme falls into 4 separate parts, namely, Grassroots Democracy Construction in the Development of Chinese Society, Democratic Value and Overseas Experiences, Grassroots Election and Political Participation, and Community Operation and Collective Action. 20 papers were winnowed to be discussed in the meeting.
