SHNU:On March 11, the Opening Ceremony of Research Center of Irish Literature was held in SHNU, and it was also the occasion the first Ireland Month of the Foreign Languages College of SHNU started. Connor O’Riordan, General Consul of Irish Embassy in Shanghai, came on the scene and presented his gifts of books. Cong Yuhao, Vice President of SHNU, delivered a speech at the ceremony. Brief exchanges of views were made to promote academic interactions among students of the two countries. The 3-month-long Irish Months will include visits of Irish Contemporary poets Thomas McCarthy and Patrick Cotter to SHNU, SHNU professors’ lectures, reading salons, and film shows etc. (Editted by Rebecca)
