From October 29th to 31st, the Conference of Chief Librarians from Key Normal University Library Alliances in Eleven Southeastern Provinces (Municipalities and Autonomous Regions) was held at our university. Vice President JiangMingjun attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech, while Jia Tiefei, the Chief Librarian of our library, presided over the event.
Jiang Mingjun extended a warm welcome to the representatives and provided a brief overview of the remarkable achievements made by SHNU library in terms of optimizing collection resources,deepeningservice innovation, and accelerating digital transformation. He expressed his hope that this conference would serve as an opportunity to further break down geographical barriers.
Jiang Xiaoyun, President of theCollaborative Association of Chief Librarians fromKey Normal Universities in the Eleven Southeastern Provinces (Municipalities and Autonomous Regions) and Chief Librarian of the Nanjing Normal University Library, delivered a keynote speech.Hecalled for enhancedcollaboration and consensus-building among member libraries, urging them to proactively embrace the digital and intelligent wave while driving services to support national and regional development.
The theme of this conference is “Review and Prospects: The Development of Higher Education Library Services in the Digital and Intelligent Era”. During the exchange and discussion session, the participating representatives shared and discussed the topics such as the characteristic work and typical cases of normal university libraries.Wu Weiwei, Chief Librarian of the Fujian Normal University Library, delivered the conference summary.
Jiang Xiaoyun delivered a speech during the closing session. During the conference, the attending delegates visited SHNU library and highly praised the revitalization of ancient texts and the modern transformation of library space functions. They also toured the Xujiahui Bookstore and the Xujiahui Library, drawing insights into the high-quality development of libraries in the new era.
