December 19th marks the day of discovering Eustra Shanghaiensis, a new kind of insect. The press conference was launched at SHNU Business Starting Garden and was attended by over 20 news media of Shanghai. The new species was detected by a business starting team composed of masters’ and doctors’ candidates of SHNU College of Life and Environmental Sciences at Shanghai Binjiang Forest Park. It was also witnessed by Shanghai Natural History Museum and Shanghai Wild Animals Protection Association, etc.
Three SHNU students who all won China National Scholarship founded Lianyewuyu Natural Exploration Workshop. This new discovery enables them to be conferred the copper plate of SHNU Business Starting Practice Base and Member of Wild Animal Protection Association. The winners also donated the live specimens to Binjing Forest Park and Shanghai Natural History Museum.
