SHNU: An international academic conference with the theme of “Reconstruction of Classics: Translated Literature from the Religious Perspective” was held in SHNU Conference Center from June 21 to 22.
The conference, hosted by the Research Center of Comparative Literature and World Literature (national-level key discipline) of SHNU, aims at expanding the development of translated literature and promoting the cross-cultural researches of literature and religion so as to increase the cultural exchanges in the world.
Nearly 40 experts and scholars from universities of the US, Singapore, India, Libya, etc. discussed such issues as translation and publication of literary and religious classics, the influence of religion upon translation strategies, religion and style research of translated literature.
SHNU Party Secretary Lu Jianfei delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. Prof. Liu Yunhua, leader of SHNU Research Center of Comparative Literature and World Literature, reviewed the situation of academic tradition and the researches of SHNU in this field. Professors from Pusan National University, Korea and Taiwan Academia Sinica and Chinese University of Hong Kong made keynote speeches at the conference.
