SHNU: On October 18th, Michael A. Peters and Tina Besley, two professors from College of Education of University of Waikato, New Zealand, spoke at SHNU Xuesihu Overseas Masters’ Forum with the theme Education in the Age of Finance Culture.
Professor Peters described the rapid development of global economy in financial times and intimate relationship between education and economy and arrived at the conclusion that education played an essential role in economic development. He also probed career plans with the students after the speech.
Featuring education philosophy and knowledge sociology, Peters also acts as the honorary professor of UIUC (University of Illinois—Urbana, Champaign) and editor of Educational Philosophy and Theory.
