The 6th China National Business English Contest for University Students wound up recently, which attracted 27, 151 candidates from over 1, 400 universities, such as Beijing University, Tsinghua University, China Science and Technology University, Xiamen University, Shanghai International Studies University, and SHNU.
About 639 SHNU students from College of Foreign Languages and College of Business (including 100 English majors and 539 non-English majors) entered the final. Among them, 41 candidates (15 English majors and 26 non-English majors) won the first prize, 119 candidates won the second prize and 151 candidates won the third prize at the final. Also, SHNU won the Best Organization Prize.
Sponsored by China Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Enterprises Association, and Higher Education Press, the contest aims at exploring innovative means and methods to promote English learning abilities and the development of international business, as well as cultivating international talents equipped with global vision and cross-cultural communication capabilities.
